QCM as Way for Monitoring of Quasi-Monomolecular Layers of the Thin Film Formation in-situ on the Electrode Surface Resonator
Abstract
The process of sorption of 3,3'-dibromtimolsulfoftalein on the surface of the gold electrode of the resonator was investigated by the method of the quartz crystal microbalance. It has been shown that under near-equilibrium conditions of an experiment linear growth of concentration of solution of organic compound within the area of small concentration changes causes a characteristic diminishing of resonance frequency. This fact has been found to be conditioned by the successive processes of a monolayer formation of matter molecules on the surface of electrode. Developed approaches can be applied to determination of effective thickness of quasi-monomolecular layers formed from the solutions.References
