Wettability of Silicas of Varied Hydrophobicity by Water and Decane
Abstract
The wetting of chemically modified high disperse silicas with hydrophilic-hydrophobic surface by water and n-decane was studied by the method of capillary imbibition. Nonlinear dependence of osmotic activity and nonmonotonic dependence of wetting rate upon the degree of surface modification with methylsilyl groups have been revealed.
