Impact of Mineral Aerosols Composition on Kinetics of Heterogeneous Fate of Trace Volatiles from Atmosphere
Abstract
The kinetic model for interaction of atmospheric trace gases with surface of mineral aerosols has been examined. The numerical computations have been performed and variations in chemical composition of the aerosols on the particle size have been found to have an influence on the rate of heterogeneous fate for the gases. The analytical data on the chemical and mineral composition of the atmospheric particle size fractions denote on the possible extensive variations in the particles composition as a function of their geographic source and the particle size effect on the composition. A chemical aerosol index has been proposed and the relationship between the kinetic parameters for interaction the atmospheric trace gases with components of mineral aerosols and this index has been determined. This enables to describe the kinetics of heterogeneous transformations for many atmospheric trace gases.References
